What we collect

We collect only the information you give us directly through forms on this site:

• Booking inquiries(the “Request Your Event” form): your name, email, phone, preferred contact method, event details, and any notes you choose to share.
• Birthday/Event Reminder Club: parent name, email, phone (optional), preferred contact method (email or text), ZIP code (optional), and the names + birthdays of the children, students, friends, or family members you want reminders for.
• Newsletter sign-ups: first name, last name, email, ZIP code (optional).
• Standard site analytics: general info about how you use our site (pages visited, how you found us) collected through Vercel and, if installed, Meta Pixel. This helps us understand what works on our site and improve it.

How we use it

• To respond to your booking request and plan your event.
• To send you the birthday reminders you signed up for.
• To send the monthly newsletter (only if you opted in) and your one-time 10% welcome discount code.
• To improve our website, marketing, and the experience we offer.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We never sell your data. Period.

Who we share it with

We only share information with trusted vendors who help us run the business:

• Vercel — hosts our website and stores subscriber data (encrypted at rest).
• Resend — sends booking confirmation emails, reminders, and newsletters on our behalf.
• Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — if you arrived from our ads, the Meta Pixel may receive limited data about your visit so we can measure ad performance and reach similar audiences. You can opt out of personalized ads through your Meta account settings.

We may also disclose information if required by law (court order, subpoena), or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Birthdays & Bashes, our customers, or others.

Children's information

The Birthday/Event Reminder Club and our booking forms are designed for adult users (parents, guardians, grandparents, family friends, teachers) to enter children's names and birthdays so we can send timely reminders. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. We only store the child's first name and birthday (month/day, with optional year) — nothing more.

If you believe a child has submitted information without parental consent, contact us and we'll promptly delete it.

Your choices & rights

• Unsubscribe at any time. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, or you can use our unsubscribe page.
• Update or delete your data. Email hello@birthdaysandbashes.com and we'll handle it within 7 days.
• Opt out of ad tracking. Most browsers have privacy controls, and Meta lets you adjust your ad personalization settings directly.

How to request data deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. Here's how:

What happens next:

1. We will confirm receipt of your request within 48 hours
2. We will verify your identity to ensure the security of your data
3. We will delete your personal information from our systems within 30 days
4. You will receive confirmation once your data has been deleted

Facebook/Instagram data:

If you connected your Facebook or Instagram account to our services:

• We will delete any data we received from Facebook/Instagram
• You can also revoke our app's access in your Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites
• Facebook and Instagram maintain their own data - please visit their privacy centers to manage data stored directly with them

Data retention exceptions:

We may retain certain information if required by law, for:

• Completing active bookings or transactions
• Tax and accounting purposes (receipts, invoices)
• Resolving disputes or enforcing our agreements
• Fraud prevention and security purposes

Any retained data will be kept only as long as legally required and will not be used for marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you're an active subscriber or customer, plus a reasonable period afterward in case we need to follow up or comply with our records obligations. If you ask us to delete your data, we will — except for limited records we're legally required to keep.

Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your information: HTTPS encryption on every page, encrypted storage at our hosting provider, and limited internal access. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data safe.

Changes to this policy
